Quadro is a bathroom, kitchen and water purification tap company. The company is now run by Elena and Enrico Magistro, the second generation of a family that has been designing and manufacturing taps since 1978 in San Maurizio d'Opaglio in the Novara province. This family dimension, along with the dynamism of the young managers, makes the company more flexible than large groups or more structured companies. AISI316L stainless steel is the primary material that Quadro Design uses to manufacture bathroom products and most kitchen and water purification taps. It is resistant to high and low temperatures, completely recyclable, hygienic, non-toxic and suitable for outdoor use. On the other hand, kitchen taps are made partly of stainless steel and partly of certified, de-leaded brass. These materials ensure that Quadro Design products will last for many years, with a five-year warranty for the internal cartridge. In addition, every Quadro product complies with the strictest international safety regulations and certifications.
Steel and design - a recipe for timeless faucets
Design and attention to materials are the indispensable ingredients for Quadrodesign products that are timeless in terms of their function and aesthetics. The brand collaborates with Hans Thyge Raunkjaer, The Roman Studio Adolini and Luca Papini. The Danish designer Hans Thyge Raunkjaer has designed: Ottavo, a bathroom and kitchen mixer inspired by a drop of water, enhanced by the infinity symbol chosen for the base in the surface-mounted versions; Volcano, a family of bathroom and kitchen taps which, like volcanoes, release water powerfully through its conical shape to gush from the spout; Ono, a bathroom mixer, a tribute to Scandinavian design with a sophisticated and linear appearance, devoid of superfluous detail with an archetypal shape. Viterbo architect Romano Adolini created Q, a collection of bathroom taps characterised by formal simplicity, attention to detail and advanced technology. With its pure overlapping and aligned geometric shapes, this series represented the brand's identity so well that it was christened with its initials. Adolini designed the Levo bathroom series, reducing form and function to their bare essentials, creating a minimal and timeless product. Also by Adolini is Valvola, a modern reinterpretation of industrial taps with typical hydraulic and gas ball valves, composed of a series of elements that can adapt to any context. Designer Luca Papini, hailing from Brescia, is responsible for: the Modo steel bathroom tap collection characterised by the deep bezel grooves that improve ergonomics and precision in regulating flow and also create a play of light and shadow on the smooth steel surface; the Stereo bathroom series inspired by the knobs of historic stereo Hi-Fis; the essential and elegant HB bathroom mixer whose rigorously linear and simple cylindrical spout is enhanced by a faceted knob obtained through mechanical serration.
A new water purification system
Registered with a "utility patent" on April 29, 1999, the Idealaqua purification system was invented by Carmelo Magistro - founder of Rubinetterie Magistro, the company from which Quadro descends. The device transforms the kitchen mixer into a limitless and economical source of filtered water by combining two functions in a single body. It is possible to turn the supply of purified and potable water on or off by using a diverter. The easy-to-install, space-saving Idealaqua spout is available in various models and heights that can be freely combined.
