Flexform is an Italian brand specializing in the production of high-end sofas and armchairs. The company was founded in 1959 as a small artisan workshop, with the name Flexform di Galimberti, from the surname of the two founding brothers. We are in Meda, in the heart of Brianza, an area dotted for more than a century with workshops devoted to the production of upholstery and furniture for the sumptuous villas of the surrounding area. Already after a few years, the need to move from artisanal to industrial production is evident. It will be the turn of the second generation to transform Flexform into an S.p.a., while consultations begin in the company with designers who are now at home in Brianza, contributing to the birth of the made-in-Italy design phenomenon. Joe Colombo, Cini Boeri, Giulio Manzoni, Paolo Nava, and then architect Antonio Citterio, who has now been coordinating Flexform collections for 40 years and helping to concretize the company's values into objects. Since the 1970s, Flexform has acquired a unique and recognizable style, with a sober and elegant flair. International expansion is a matter of time: the spread of the unmistakable Flexform sofas and armchairs begins in Germany, and then continues unabated, reaching the rest of Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. The brand's catalog is enriched with furniture for living and sleeping areas, and the mention of Antonio Citterio's A.B.C.D. armchair for the 2015 ADI Design Index represents the crowning achievement of a respectable path. Today Flexform furnishes some of the world's most beautiful spaces, from hotels in Arabia to Australian lofts and American villas, and is present in no fewer than 90 countries around the world, with its 22 flagship stores and 100 shop-in-shops.
Flexform sofas and armchairs, understated elegance, design and comfort
Flexform is known worldwide for its refined collections of upholstered furniture with balanced proportions, versatile and able to adapt to every need, thanks to the wide possibility of customizing finishes, materials and fabrics. Among the new additions is Antonio Citterio's Camelot collection, which includes a three-seater sofa and a corner sofa. Camelot is presented as a versatile modular system that can be assembled as desired, including the combination of materials. Antonio Citterio's signature Perry collection is a seating system with a rigorous and essential design, featuring an elegant tubular metal base and a soft upholstered shell, with an outer layer of goose down and removable cover. The latest addition to the family is the Perry Up sofa, declined in three sizes and available with fabric or leather upholstery. Patrick Norguet signs the Ozzy ottoman, with a decidedly original design. A simple upholstered cylinder covered in fabric or leather, it is doubled on one half by a leather part that goes to form a small backrest. Also original is the Eri corner armchair, designed by Fumie Shibata, who was inspired by the motif of a raised jacket lapel. Turned solid wood legs join the cross-shaped frame that supports a wrap-around shell. Two cushions complete the armchair, declined in your choice of upholstery from Flexform's exclusive collection of leathers and fabrics. Among the now iconic pieces, we can mention the Cestone collection, designed by Antonio Citterio in 2008. Unmistakable is the structure made of woven leather straps attached to the metal frame, which emphasizes the aesthetics of the back and sides.
Flexform, tables, storage furniture and beds for all-around furniture
The Flexform catalog is completed by tables, chairs and storage furniture, as well as solutions for the sleeping area, for furniture that involves all rooms in the home. The Arnold collection of tables, signed by Antonio Citterio, is declined in different shapes and sizes, united by the solid wood workmanship for the legs, mounted in an oblique position, and top in wood veneer. Wide choice of woods and finishes, which can be diversified for legs and top. The appeal of the Infinity modular bookcase, which Antonio Citterio designed in 2004, remains unmatched. The enameled metal modules in a color of your choice feature a thin profile, and are joined together by invisible screws. The lightweight structure can be modulated at will thanks to the different sizes available, while doors and drawers are replaced by elegant leather boxes. Part of the historic Feel Good collection, also by Antonio Citterio, is the Feel Good - Feel Good Ten bed, with its timeless contemporary classic lines. Light in form thanks to the metal feet that support the slender leather-covered frame, it features a simple upholstered headboard with removable covers that can be declined in the refined covers offered by Flexform. Perfectly matched with the nightstands of the Piuma collection, characterized by an essential design, also thanks to the absence of handles or knobs, available in canaletto walnut, ash or bitter ebony, in natural, stained or extra finishes.
