Cattelan is an Italian company specializing in the production of designer furniture and accessories. The brand was founded in 1979 in Carré, in the province of Vicenza, on the initiative of Giorgio Cattelan and his wife Silvia. Giorgio, born in 1944, grew up in his father's workshop, where he learned the secrets of the trade, understood the nature of materials, and made furniture. This rich background, combined with keen entrepreneurial skills, allows the fledgling company to stand out among the many companies in the Vicenza district. The bet is based on three pillars: choice of fine materials for tables and chairs, such as marble and crystal, innovation in production lines, and a strongly distinctive design. Having won the bet, Cattelan also became known abroad, starting in the 1980s, qualifying as one of the excellences of made in Italy. Cattelan furniture is appreciated for its classic contemporary style and timeless design, and combines formal simplicity, refinement and functionality, thanks to the choice of materials and attention to detail, without neglecting comfort. In 1995 his sons Paolo and Lorenzo joined the company, and since 2014 the helm has passed into the hands of Paolo Cattelan, also a designer. In addition to tables, chairs and accessories, which remain the flagship products in the catalog, Cattelan now also offers bookcases, storage furniture and beds, and is present in more than 150 countries.

Cattelan tables and chairs, elegant and timeless design

Cattelan's signature tables and chairs are famous for their elegant and timeless design. Not going unnoticed is the Butterfly rectangular table, core+ design, with its steel base molded into a sinuous shape inspired by the wings of a butterfly. The crystal top, resting on 4 almost invisible supports, seems to float in the air. The Butterfly Keramik version, on the other hand, sports a marble-effect ceramic top, while the metal base, for both models, is available in Brushed Bronze, Brushed Grey, Goffrato titanium and Goffrato bronze finishes. The Ray round glass table, designed by Paolo Cattelan, features a crystal glass top resting on a highly original base made of three separate, slightly inclined steel cylinders. The available finishes for the legs are declined in an elegant leather upholstery or painted, with a choice of 24 colors. Paolo Cattelan also signs the Arcadia chair, characterized by a classic and elegant line and precious finishes, making it suitable for both residential and prestigious receptive environments. The solid wood frame is developed in the 4 cone-shaped legs, thin and slightly inclined, and in the upholstered back that forms a delicate curve. The wood used is beech, in natural, Canaletto walnut stained, dark wenghé and matte black finishes, while the upholstery of the shell, with handmade stitching, is declined in the materials of Cattelan's exclusive collection, in leather, eco-leather, fabric, Micro nubuck synthetic leather or in the very soft Glove leather. The Camilla ML seat, design Luca Signoretti, is distinguished by the enveloping lines that unite the seat, armrests and backrest. The upholstery features horizontal stitching that forms three wave-like sections on the back of the shell, echoing the shape of the seat. The frame is made of metal with an embossed finish in five color variations, while the upholstery is declined in one of the materials from Cattelan's collection.

Cattelan, bookcases and storage furniture in classic contemporary style

Cattelan's catalog also includes bookcases and storage furniture that, together with complements, furnish the living area to 360 degrees. Lightness, versatility and functionality combined with great aesthetic impact characterize the Airport modular bookcase, designed by Giorgio Cattelan. The modules are composed of flat-section steel uprights, available in different heights, with floor and ceiling or wall mounting, and shelves equipped with holes, drilled with a 25-cm pitch, for the insertion of the uprights. Thanks to this stratagem, it is possible to create countless configurations by also exploiting corners, and to modulate the many available finishes to the color palette of the environment. Ono Design signs the Fulham bookcase, characterized by fluid and rounded shapes, in line with the latest trends. Made of steel, it is perfect both placed on the wall and in the center of the room, thanks to the open compartments. The bookcase consists of a module 135 cm wide, 34 cm deep and 85 cm high, stackable in height. The finishes are declined in embossed titanium, bronze or pearl. The Chelsea sideboard, designed by Alessio Bassan, stands out for its decidedly unusual geometric shape, thanks to its three-sided sides. The sideboard is distinguished by refined details, such as the crystal top and internal shelves, white or titanium lacquer finish, and is declined in 9 different sizes, two of which are supported on steel feet.
